1.When did humans discover hyaluronic acid? What is the origins of hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is an acidic mucopolysaccharide, which was firstly isolated by Meyer (a professor of ophthalmology from Columbia University (US)) et al. from bovine vitreous body in 1934. Hyaluronic acid shows various important physiological functions in the body with its unique molecular structure and physicochemical properties, such as lubricating joints, regulating the permeability of blood vessel walls, regulating the diffusion and operations of protein, water and electrolytes, promoting wound healing, etc. Hyaluronic acid has a special water-locking effect, and is the most moisturizing substance found in nature with a reputation of ideal natural moisturizing factor.
2. Is hyaluronic acids produced by the human body? Why hyaluronic acids decrease as people age?
Hyaluronic acid is an important component for moisturizing in the dermis layer of human skin. Its content will decrease with the increase of age, subsequently causing skin aging due to dryness and lack of water, occurrence of wrinkles, rough and dull skin, uneven skin tone and other problems.
3. Is hyaluronic acid really effective?
Human skin contains a lot of hyaluronic acids, and the skin ripening and aging processes also change with the content and metabolism of hyaluronic acid. It can improve skin nutrient metabolism, bring soft, smooth, wrinkle-free skin while increasing elasticity and preventing aging - an excellent moisturizer as well as a good transdermal absorption enhancer. It can play a better role in nutrient absorption when used with other nutritional ingredients.
4. Applied amount of hyaluronic acid
It is known that the best content of hyaluronic acid is 1% (the highest standard of deep moisturizing in Europe)
The higher the concentration of hyaluronic acid is, the less suitable in the cosmetics. Hyaluronic acid with high concentration, when added in the cosmetics ingredients, will pose great harms to the skin, therefore extra caution should be taken as to the dosage of hyaluranic acid. Normally 1-2 drops is enough to apply on the whole face and neck, otherwise excessive hyaluranic acid would not be absorbed and put a burden on the skin.
Hyaluronic acids of different molecular sizes have different beauty effects on various skin areas.
5. Where is the hyaluranic acid in the skin care products extracted from?
For this question, there are three methods of extraction:
first, from animal tissues;
Second, from microbial fermentation;
Third, refined by chemical synthesis.
